David - Thanks for sharing the details you provided in your document. I may have to get a license for an HA back-end box and test it out first (the client has a fairly mature change review and acceptance process).
James - I am also a proponent of grouping and auth lists whenever and wherever possible, so I'm moving in that direction (in tandem with group profiles).
I just needed to hear that it works fairly well. This will help clear off an open control item from the list!
