I think you're going to like the performance analysis tools available with
iNav on V5R4. IBM has cases where people have switched from MS SQL Server
to our real DBMS on the sole basis of these tools alone.

There were numerous sessions on this at the last COMMON. However, I
attended several and I didn't actually get any step-by-step sessions using
any actual case studies to improve performance. Sure, the Index Advisor
was awesome. And, I am anxious to try V6R1 of iSeries Access against a
V6R1 version of i. The enhanced Visual Explain will step by step expand
as each part of the graph is done. Granted, if the finished product on
V5R4 actually displayed the time on each step instead of the time value of
0 that probably would have been sufficient. (I probably need to call that
in to discover why not.)
