Hi Sherri,

Do you have the drive setup for Sequential or Random mode? I believe you
have to have it setup in Random mode for this to happen. The same thing
happened when we got our 3581.

Thanx,

Nick

RE:Automating LTO4 tape library with BRMS

Sherri wrote>>>>
Hi All,
I am trying to get my 3580 LTO4 tape drive to automatically unload the
tape from the drive into the I/O slot so that it can be easily removed to
be sent off site without returning the tape to the originating slot. Does
anyone have any ideas how to automate this with BRMS or any other way to
automate it so that I don't have to manually do this? The tape drive is
located in another facility. We currently are using it as a tape drive,
not a library.
We are currently running V5R2.
Thanks,
Sherri

Sherri, it's been a while, but I believe the 3580 has some settings on the
ACL itself that allow the behavior that your desire. Also, in the BRMS
backup control group there are commands that tell the OS to leave, rewind,
or unload the tape at the end of the function.
