Please define what you mean by "pointer" in this context. You can certainly
store offsets in a user space, and still read those after a save / restore.

pgm a in job1 can store a pointer in a user space and then end. pgm b
in job2 can then resolve to the space and use the stored pointer. Why
use offsets that have to be converted to pointers in your code when
you can use and store a pointer instead? Any concern you have about
authority in the pointer exist today because pointers can be stored in
spaces and used by other jobs.
