There are many ways in which superiority can be measured. The
technical capabilities and ease of which code can be manipulated to
produce something usable and deployed, are but one. The lifespan for
which that code might be used and/or re-used are another.
I have an i5 with programs running that were written more than 15
years ago, and has survived 4 major OS version upgrades(V2, V3, V4 and
V5) without any change or re-compile whatsoever. I know of very few
programs written for the PC 15 years ago that are still running and
usable today, in fact I can't think of any.
