You mean pointers set in one IPL remaining valid on the next one? You
sure aren't asking for much, are you?

the example illustrates the improvements that can be made to SLS, but
which IBM has not been doing the last 10 yrs. pointers should be 64
bytes, should contain a GUID to make them truly permanent. If a system
pointer contained a guid it could be used to call a program across the
network.
