Interesting that you mention the 9/11 area. Al never could go back downtown
to that section of town again after 9/11...he had seen many situations where
whole companies were gone, families where one or 2 parents were gone and in
cases kids orphaned... If he had clients that needed to meet with him from
that area, they came out to the office...

Having seen his presentations at COMMON for decades I grew to know him and
sought his advice on decisions over the years. His exuberant personality
and ever giving spirit will be missed.

I can remember the COMMON in 2001 where he gave overflowing, packed
presentations on the disaster of 9/11 with photographs and a tear filled,
sobbing presentation. No one left the room with dry eyes.

Al touched many of us with his spirit and enthusiasm. He was our evangelist
to IBM and I know that no one will ever replace him.

I've just been given the news that Al Barsa died last night. No details yet
- will pass those along as I hear them.

Al has been a friend for many years and a long-time contributor to this list
- we'll miss him.
