The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Currently running V5R4, but noticed this on V5R2 and V4Rx.
If I say "ADDRESS EXECSQL" at the top of a Rexx program, then I can run
SQL statements fine. Prefixing i5/OS commands with ADDRESS COMMAND works
well also.
However, if I use just ADDRESS COMMAND at the beginning of a program,
then ADDRESS EXECSQL statements return with RC(-10).
The SQL statements are unchanged; solely changing the initial ADDRESS
from EXECSQL to COMMAND causes the problem.
For Rexx programs that perform many command but few SQL statements, this
is a pain due to prefixing ADDRESS COMMAND to all i5/OS commands to
execute.
Tried searching the archives but didn't see anything for the situation.
Do you Rexx gurus know if this is a normal condition or a defect?
