Actually, no, you can't. I found this out the hard way. There are no
figurative constants in CL.

The figurative constants *BLANKS and *ZEROS do not exist in CL! That's
strictly an RPG thing. If you use those, (especially *BLANKS), you will be
comparing against the literal strings '*BLANKS' or '*ZEROS'.
