My current client is planning to hire up to two new programmers, both of whom have experience in areas (mostly IBM mainframe) other than iSeries but who know the languages used here. What are some sources of training materials which could be used to teach these new hires the ways of the iSeries, such as the normal set of commands we use on the system?

Robert:

For basic introductory stuff, consider:

http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/enable/education/index.html

Select [i5/OS] in the Operating system drop-down. Courses that seem appropriate at an introductory level --

2 CL and Command Programming Lab
13 IBM i5/OS text interface
24 Introduction to work management on the IBM iSeries platform
45 OS/400 File Systems

I'd like to see more of these courses from IBM and I'd like a far clearer navigation path to find all the various pages like that. Hmmm... maybe I'll find time to midrangeWiki it... maybe.
