I really appreciate Michael Ryan's comments about how i5/OS (system
admin, user management, security, spooling, work management, database)
compares very favorably to Linux, Unix and the other *Nixes.
Why? A certain, brash young network administrator loves to spout
unsubstantiated claims that Linux on a Dell server is far better than
IBM's System i. I calmly ask him to recommend an ERP manufacturing
suite that can eliminate our JD Edwards World ERP, and he says, "SAP".
Yeah, for several million dollars implementation.

I always welcome links to articles and papers on how organizations run
their business on the IBM System i instead of on Unix/Linux.

I've worked a bunch on *NIX, and the user management and
security is much less than i5/OS'. Spooled output on *NIX is abysmal,
and the third party tools bring that level up to tolerable at best.
Work management on *NIX? Not even close.
