Reviling of a consistent origin and/or theme, will be recognized as the vitriol that it is. It will be obvious by reading, that there is no intention to carry on a worthwhile conversation, nor debate. When not cognizant of that by perusal of such attacks, there is little hope in convincing the reader to consider any introspection of their initial bias; irrespective of on which side. It is a game really, to play on the emotions of the reader, with the hopes the reader will join in, so they can [have some fodder to] continue their attack. Any attempts to defend or counter-point will merely invoke continued bashing by the current /owners/ of the /discussion/, thus prolonging the not-so-much of a conversation.

And besides, slashdot gives an http browser-based interface to discussions... How worthless is that except as an archive! NNTP is where it is at! No offense to the LISTers.
