I have eleven Domino servers on one lpar. Each Domino server has it's own
IP address. There is another IP address reserved for i5/os. Only two of
the eleven domino servers are configured to use SMTP. Notes-to-Notes
email between servers is fine but Notes to anywhere else is supposed to go
through one of those two Domino servers.
When I do a NETSTAT *CNN I see (after the appropriate F14 and F13):

Out of the all asterisks, one is server one domino server, one is serving
another domino server, and one is i5/os. The one with an IP address is a
current transmission between the SMTP client of native i5/os and the SMTP
server of one of the Domino servers.
If you do a 5 on one of these you will see the name of the server and the
IP address used by that server. For example:
