Is there a toolkit for building portlets for Portal Express 6? The v5
toolkit came w/WDSC 5 Advanced Edition. Do I need an "advanced" edition
of WDSC 7 (or RDI) to build portlets now?
According to the portal site:
"Note: The Portal Toolkit does not support WebSphere Portal V5.1. To
develop a portlet for WebSphere Portal V5.1, you need to use IBM
Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software V6.0 or IBM
Rational Software Architect V6.0."
And :
"Download a free trial version of IBM(r) Lotus(r) Component Designer V6,
an innovative, easy-to-use, standards-based development tool that script
developers, Microsoft(r) Visual Basic(r) developers, IBM Lotus Domino(r)
application designers, and others can use to create components for IBM
WebSphere(r) Portal V6. Supporting a service-oriented architecture
(SOA), Lotus Component Designer is ideal for composite application
development and for extending existing applications with collaborative
components."
Of course it doesn't make sense to me that I should use a Lotus product
to develop portlets for a websphere portal server, does it?
Not to be silly, but I need a roadmap! J
Thanks,
-Walden
