I'm really not trying to start a fight on this, but I have yet to hear your definition of what constitutes a "real RDBMS". All I have ever heard from you on this is "DB2/400 is not a real RDBMS". Can you qualify that statement with real details?
In general terms, I agree that most shops do not use DB2 as they should. However, it does not follow that DB2/400 is inferior to the other RDBMS products simply because its not fully utilized. Using your terms, it is clear that you believe DB2/400 to be a toy of some sort, since it's not "a real RDBMS". Yet this platform has supported the integrated database from day one, even before SQL was a real language. (The S/38 began shipping in 1979, and was the first commercially available RDBMS offered by IBM.) Oracle did manage to beat IBM to market by a few weeks....
