Chuck, thank you for the opportunity to learn something new yet again. It is most appreciated. Is it safe for me to guess that the reason you chose SYSPARTITIONSTAT over SYSTABLESTAT is because SYSPSTAT knows about members?

SELECT system_TABLE_SCHEMA, system_TABLE_NAME,
system_table_member, number_rows, table_partition
FROM SYSPARTITIONSTAT
WHERE TABLE_SCHEMA='BUCK'
AND table_name='QRPGLESRC'

I note (empirically) that the column SYSTEM_TABLE_MEMBER appears to contain the same information as TABLE_PARTITION.

Dave, if my guess is right and you have multi-member files, you will want to incorporate the member into your query.
