That's true Justin, but a more interesting (and much more difficult) question is this: How many _meaningful_ names are possible in 10 characters? 'A111111111' isn't a very useful name, in my opinion. Then again, I guess that's what the 50-char description is for.

While I'm frustrated at times by the 10 character limit, I'm not convinced it's as big a problem as Steve makes it out to be. On the other hand, this is one of those things that makes the OS look old or limited or just generally weird to newcomers.
