Running into problems installing MySQL on a new 525. They have two
versions available:

i5/OS (POWER, 64-bit)5.0.51a60.4M
i5/OS (POWER, 32-bit)5.0.51a60.2M

Since we can't get the tar file imbedded in the 64-bit version to
decompress, IBM support has asked that I download the 32-bit version and
try it. I would have thought that a new 525 at V5R4M5 would be 64-bit,
but the person helping me didn't know one way or the other and suggested
the 32-bit. Is there a location that would actually specify this?

i5/OS is 64bit, but PASE can run both 32bit and 64bit binaries. Given
a variety of variables, the 32bit or the 64bit binary might be
slightly faster or slower. I have no idea why the mysql foks publish
two binaries.

There's also a 32bit JVM in V5R4, that is faster than the 64 "Classic"
JVM in certain circumstances.
