Thanks Antonio. Actually I am a HUGE fan of WRKODBCJOB. It has helped me out immensely over the years and has been an essential part of any ODBC or JDBC installation I do. The problem is, of course, that although the job logs are available while the connection is active, once terminated the joblog is gone, unless you make the changes to the job definition itself (which is what triggered the original question)

Great to hear that others are getting good use out of this great utility.

As shown in his example on that page, when viewing info about those jobs you can (option 10) view their JobLog.

Subject: Change the job log settings on QZDASOINIT
I have a problem with an application that uses ODBC to connect to DB2 for i5/OS. For the customer, the quickest fix is to stop and start the application, which disconnects from the System i and then restarts the connections. However, the information in the QZDASOINIT connection job is lost. The job log isn't retained. I am pretty sure that this is because of the way the prestart job is defined but I am not sure. Anyone have a quick pointer on how to get a job log retained when a QZDASOINIT job is ended?
