No, they're perfectly related.

There are two possible scenarios:

a)
Buy a SAN
Buy a System i Blade
Buy Servers, attach Servers to SAN

b)
Buy a big System i
Buy Servers, attach Servers to System i

I was arguing why a) might be better than b).
