Perhaps this is a good time to switch from a 3570? I had nothing but
problems with those as they aged and we scrapped them years ago. Granted,
a new tape drive may be expensive, and duping all your tapes may be a
hassle, and new tapes may be a cost factor, but the new drive may come
with a year's free maintenance - and that's worth something.
Oh, and V5R4 allows you to dup tapes to virtual image, which may, or may
not, help you out.
One of those new utilities despite some believers attitude of new releases
provide no new features to the bottom line and only cost money.
