I recall where I used to work we had a 6400 and wanted to convert it from
Twinax to Ethernet. We contacted IBM and they sent us (for a fee of
course) an ibm print server adapter it's model/partno. =00408C410790. It
was about the size of a deck of cards. I am told that they are only able
to print iSeries (no PC) reports to it.

We've ordered a lot of our print stuff through Mint Computer. Their
website is http://www.mintcomputer.com/
Barry Tucker is our contact there. His email is barry at mintcomputer.com.

Let him know I gave you his name.

Thanks. Would you happen to have a link for ordering one? A part number
will
be helpful, if you don't.

Has anybody ever used a Hawking Technology Parallel Print Server to
connect
a 6400 to a System i via ethernet? What might be a better solution?

Paul Nelson

We have a 6400 printer with an IBM ethernet card (also IPDS). It works
fine.
