Simon, As I recall the error message had to do with the RSTLICPGM process. Something about restoring a saved "hard" link to a symbolic link.

While you're raising it with them find out why a symbolic link breaks their install process. It shouldn't matter that it's a symbolic link vs. a "real" directory. It still points to a suitable place to store stuff.

Modifying their install process to test for a symbolic link and send an error message saying something like "Can't install: remove symlink for xyz" is just a kludge.
