My argument was not about who creates better code, it was about the economics of what the businessman was stating, my observations and how American workers, especially union workers, have and are pricing themselves out of the market. When a businessman can get the same results, even though it might take longer, at a better price, he'll go to whomever can do the work cheaper.
Now, did the businessman take TCO of all factors into consideration? Maybe, maybe not. But when the mandate from the CFO or the CEO is to CUT COSTS to stem the bleeding of cash and offshore, even when it takes longer and makes sloppy code, is perceived cheaper at the bottom line, that's where business will go.
American workers would do well to get off the emotional, flag waving kick and discover reality that has been staring them in the face for decades.
