I would think that SQL would treat this as one big string. The RPG would
handle it perfectly. However I know nothing as to how java would parse
back out the contents of the data structure. Haven't done it myself, but
RPGLE does have keywords that seem to affect parameters back and forth to
java. And a quick perusal seems to allude that some of them can be done
on data structure subfields. So, perhaps they could do some of that work
for you.
