Hi Booth,

In situations like that, I tend to code an OVRPRTF in my program that uses the print file. Since the OVRPRTF specifies a width of 85 columns, it doesn't matter what was specified on the CRTPF command.

I realize that this might not be ideal for all situations, but it's what I use in my shop.

My goal is to be sure the programmer remembers to compile the print file with a width of 85 columns.

There's nothing that's precisely the same as the H-spec in RPG. Others have already pointed out that there are build tools (from various places) that will handle this for you.

However: I've found ways to deal with almost all of the print file options so that no special tools are needed. If you can explain what, specifically, you need to do, I may have an idea.

Is it possible to put the compile options in the printer file source member, like we can
with the H Option(*NODEBUGIO) for RPGLE?
