You are correct Jerry. My point was the UPS protecting against spikes, etc.
that might have impacted the power supplies (?) :-)

I'm not an EE or much of a hardware person so correct me if I am in
error, but I thought that, if the power supply went (as in Rob's case),
the UPS was not intended to (nor was capable of) replacing it (i.e.,
keeping anything running). Isn't that what redundant power supplies are
for?
