As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

FWIW: midrange.com used to run on slackware ... but the upgrade process
was incredibly painful (save all your important data, uninstall
everything, reinstall everything, reconfigure everything ... which why I
switched to Redhat (and, subsequently, to Fedora).
Just to be clear ... the upgrade problems I've been encountering have
very little to do with Linux ... it's always something totally unrelated
to the upgrade that fails.
