I'm thinking that I'd try 8 2's. :-)

I haven't done this in a while, and I am in vacation mode as well, but
did you try manual IPL to DST and using 2222222 reset the QSECOFR
(i5/OS) User profile password. Then signon to the Console with QSECOFR
and do a CHGDSTPWD *DEFAULT and then get into DST/SST?

Subject: Need LIC disk for V5R3

Hi,

OK so, I got another AS/400 machine, which came with, get this, V5R3 on
it. I do not have media for this version, and would like to generate a
distribution tape from what's on the machine, but the QSECOFR and DST
accounts are disabled and I don't know the passwords. So I need a LIC
disc to reinstall the LIC and wipe out the passwords.

Also, I cannot IPL to a login screen because I mistakenly left a SCSI
connector off one of the DASD cages when I was reassembling the machine,
and I lost the disk configuration - which I can't rebuild without the
QSECOFR DST login working :/

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks again to those who have helped me before :)

Julian
