Thanks Shannon for the web pages, I worked through them this
morning. Just
one issue, I can't get the CGI example to work. I keep getting a
403 error:
You do not have permission to access /cgi-bin/CUSTCGI.PGM on this server.
Any thoughts?

Go here:material you
http://www.itjungle.com/fhg/fhgindex.html
Scroll to the bottom of the page, start at the article:
"Learning Basic HTML Tags"
Then go to:
"How does your browser find a web page" - for some foundation
should have to understand what you are going to be doing.displays sales
Then go to:
Then go to:
"Basic HTML: Headers, Bodies and Flying Text"
Then go to:
"Displaying Static HTML Pages from the iSeries"
Then go to:
"Form Up to Learn about HTML Forms"
Then go to:
"Step by Step: RPGIV and Interactive Web Pages"
Each article builds on the previous article and shows you, I think, very
simply, how to move from green screen to the web, using HTML and CGI.

Subject: The web, where to start?
I'd like to create a fairly simple sales application that
mind. Where isinformation on a web page. All of the data is resident on an iSeries.
There
seem to be so many ways of doing it, well, it boggles the
been yearsa
good place to start? Keep in mind that I am a long time RPG coder, I
don't
know C/C++, Java, and so on. I can hold my own in VB.net. It's
since I've created any webpages or worked with the HTML servers on the
iSeries. Point me to a good book or example or website or ? and I'll be
good
to go.
Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
