If you *are* running in the 36 environment at all (whether as the system default or via command), you need/require the QS36F library. If you are *not* running in the 36E, my guess would be that the *File objects *may* be used by converted applications. Only a cross-reference of your applications would tell you that.

As for the objects' last used date, there was a discussion on that here a couple of weeks ago. Chuck Pence submitted a very helpful contribution to that at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l/200711/msg00814.html . I've got it pinned to my wall; I'm still referring to it as I go through a library to weed out the dead wood.
