Hi all,-----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE-----
I am having trouble with QShell's sed today. I use this tool (sed) on a
regular basis, just never for hex values. My problem is that I have an IFS
file with %0D%25 at the end of each line that I would like to have converted
to x'25'. The problem is that no matter what I try it doesn't seem to work
for me (personally I think sed hates me, but that's another topic :-). I
might be having a bad Monday and simply need another set of eyes.
None of these work for me. The replace-value in the regex is always taken
literally (minus the backslash):
sed s/%0D%25/x'25'/g /file1.txt > /file1.txt.tmp
sed s/%0D%25/\x'25'/g /file1.txt > /file1.txt.tmp
sed s/%0D%25/\r/g /file1.txt > /file1.txt.tmp
sed s/%0D%25/\n/g /file1.txt > /file1.txt.tmp
sed s/%0D%25/\x25/g /file1.txt > /file1.txt.tmp
Can somebody bring rest to my frustration?
