Got a convertDateToNum UDF lying around? And then of course
I'd have to dig out how to do a UDF...did it once IIRC.

Then you're not using date fields <grin>

Eric already mentioned a UDF to convert the numeric value
to a date value.

However, let me point out that by doing so, you'll force a
table scan
as any index over the numeric field will not be used.

Your query would perform better by converting the current_date and
(current_date - 30) into a numeric value with a UDF.

Select *
from myfile
where myDateNum between convertDateToNum(current_date - 30
days) and
ConvertDateToNum(current_date)

Charles

That's what I was looking for! Thanks Alan...

Hmmm...also...what if mydate is 8.0 numeric in the form
of ccyymmdd?

Bah...this is eluding me. I want to select records from a
file where a
date value is between current date and 30 days ago. I
thought I could
do something like:
mydate between current_date and current_date - 30, but that
doesn't seem to work. Gotta be easy...how do I do it? Thanks!
