Have you tried creating the host entry in QNTC manually? Not sure if that would make any difference, but I *assume* that QNTC only populates shares that WINS knows about. I wonder if a SAMBA share would even try to register itself to WINS.....

MD '/QNTC/nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn'

Then access via '/QNTC/nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn/Share/path/to/stmf.dat

Subject: Accessing a SAMBA server via the QNTC file system

Has anyone successfully configured a connection to a UNIX based SAMBA
Server via the QNTC file system on the iSeries?

I have been able to use the QNTC file system to access Windows
directories without any problem, but for some reason I can't access a
link defined on the UNIX based Samba Server. I have no problem mapping
to a Samba Server directory from my Windows Desktop though...

If anyone has been able to make this work I'd sure like to know how you
did it!

Kenneth
