I don't know about Erik's reasons, But if I needed a surveliance system I will surely prefer to have it hosted in the iSeries. Sadly, anybody who is selling windos-only solutions will try to convince everybody that it is not a good idea to use a better server.

We are in this business, (security camera systems, card access, etc) and
also do a lot of iSeries work as well, but would never consider the iSeries
as the server for this type of project. Why do you want an iSeries
solution?

Subject: Surveillance Videos and Security Cameras on the System i ? ? ? ? ?

Do you know of any System i - hosted Surveillance Video and Security Cameras
systems?

Or is that an application that has never ported to the System i?

Need to review some of the available offerings for outdoor-mounted security
cameras and surveillance video that store data on disk.
Here is one site http://www.surveillance-video.com/
