There is probably a simple answer but..........
I have a need to present different subfiles within the one control record. The application has a common process for the control record but the contents of each subfile record will differ according to some criteria. I can't see how to do it, or even if it is possible.
I guess I could create 2 control records and manage them internally in the program, but I thought that one control record might be a more elegant way of doing it.

Are you setting up something where the screen is divided into 2 sections, each with its own block of subfile records under its own set of column headings?

Or are you setting up a single mixed list?

If the former, you need (as I recall, and I actually did it, some years back) separate control records.

If the latter, why do you need 2 different subfile records? Why not one record format, with 2 different sets of fields, with an indicator controlling which fields are visible on any given line?
