OK, so if I've lost my SST passwords, how do I reset them?

The command is:


You have to be signed on to i5/OS as QSECOFR. This changes the DST password
for DST profile QSECOFR to the default of QSECOFR. This can be confusing as
hell: the DST profiles are NOT i5/OS user profiles. So even though you have
to sign on as QSECOFR and you are changing the DST QSECOFR profile, they are
two distinct entities.

Anywho, once you've done that, you can go back into service tools using the
STRSST, but the first thing you'll need to do is change your password. This
is also the same profile used for the Dedicated Service Tools, which is what
you get by flipping with the control panel, but so far I haven't needed DST
for anything.

Don't ask me how I know, nor how many times I've had to do this, because I
will NOT answer <grin>, but you MAY want to create another SST profile and
password, just in case.
