There is an 0004 error message associated with someone having the cursor
some place on a monitor that has nothing to do with input / output, then
trying to do input / output there.
E0004 is not an AS/400 error message, that I recognize ... but it could be
error message of some application you on, or it could be PC related,
depending on exactly which status bar you talking about.
If you place the cursor on the text of the E0004 error message, then press
F1 help key, you should get into more info about the error message,
assuming it is AS/400 standard. This info will tell you whether it came
from IBM OS or from some application.
If you have various kinds of access, you can also check your log to find
out from what software the error message was derived.
Let's suppose you logged onto the AS/400 then tried to run some software
application which had its own security.
So you have password to get onto PC network, password to get on AS/400,
password to get into the package, password to run some application ... not
the kind of reality that security designers advise today, but still all too
common.
So you took some menu option, was asked for a password, and got the Error
E0004 from that application, because it was wrong password there, and then
that returned you to your AS/400 menu without that application running.
Hi,
Hi have this message in my status bar: E00004 saying that the password
is invalid.
But I was able to login.
What's wrong?
Regards,
Marco
