In STRSQL, it's maybe 30 seconds.

As for the web technology, I have no idea, but I'll discuss it with the
client on Monday.

How long does the SQL take when run from STRSQL?

I'm not sure what you mean by "the results come back in about five
minutes, but thereafter, the retrieval is very quick." It is that the
first run of the query, say for customer 12, takes 5 minutes, but the
next request, say customer 22, runs fast? If so, I'm surprised that this
problem exists for each user. If you're connection pooling, and using
connections correctly across web sessions then I can see this for the
first user of the day, or something like that, but not for each user.
What's the web technology?
