Hi Aaron! To be honest, I haven't used OpenOffice much myself. I've been doing

Anyhoo, yeah, it's been more than three years since I've been here. In case
anyone has been wondering, here's my story: In the summer of 2004, there was
a big re-org at the lab, and I ended up working on the PL/X compiler for the
zSeries. At the time, I was asked not to comment publically on the re-org, so
I left all the on-line groups I was subscribed to. The PL/X project was
challenging, but over time, I hated the work more and more. Finally, in June,
I quit.

the sense I get from this is IBM has been reducing headcount by
attrition in its language, ILE and core OS product groups. MSFT has
major language and OS product releases coming out in the next 6
months. Billions invested for a lot of gain.
