Yeah...my 1st mission is to free up space
Even before I do any sort of save or savstg on this beast.

I agree with all the prior comments....i should have put the "move disks
into right position" before the "D" Manual IPL.

Jim, as was mentioned get the disks in the right position before the CD

IPL.

remember the Back and recovery guide is your friend:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r3/topic/books/sc4153
04.pdf

And if you plan on putting v5r4 on the system you WILL have to free up
some space. And a save/restore will get back some (spool files and some
other spacey objects)

So here's my wild theory:

Since this is virgin territory for me...I may be way off base
So any/all flames are appreciated :)

1) Save system using Option #21 (or better to do a savstg)

2) Do a "D" Manual IPL and reload the LIC from Tape or CD and do an
initialize of the disks.

3) Move said disks around so that the 35GB disk is in "1" (a.k.a. Load
source)

4) Restore from tape

5) Do upgrade from v5R2 to v5r4
