OK - Let me ask it this way:
If we should instead budget for putting "New Technology" wireless
"scanning" throughout our whole plant - And - we want all of the
"scans" to transmit back to out System i5 programs/database - where, and
with whom, should we begin to look to provide this functionality?
Simple Ballpark costs would be appreciated for budgeting purposes -
approximately plant size = 65,000 square feet.

We also have several of the WIRED Symbol scanners wedged - and they work
flawlessly. As I keep dinking with this wireless one, I see that it
does OCCASIONALLY work, but no where near reliable enough for the new
application we wish to use it on.
So, I must seek alternative solutions, and we will be open to
suggestions.

I have a customer using a similar setup (not wireless) but Symbol
scanner "wedged" into 3488 keyboards.
The only failure I have ever seen is the scanner. They are not fancy but
they do in fact work.

Good Question.
It "pairs" up fine, and then I scan the "host interface" and that goes
through. But, it will NOT scan anything at all into any available
fields now. I tried many different barcodes and get nothing at all.
The scanner is fully charged - I had the battery pack replaced!
