Ok, I've updated my firmware on my FSP. Twas a concurrent update luckily.
Did it on my 520. After the update, I went back in and did the copy to
permanent. FSP has something like an A side and a B side, much like
i5/os. Now I see
EC Number = 01SF240
Installed Level = 320
Activated Level = 320
Accepted Level = 320
Deferred Level = only 284

The help on this says that Deferred Level "Displays the latest, or highest
LIC level that contains unactivated deferred updates. This refers to the
updates selected on the system. A deferred update requires a system
restart to activate."

Question 1 of 2: Does this system restart include all lpars, or does it
require the rack to be restarted also? Coordinating downtime between all
lpars is a bit trickier and is the primary reason we were a bit behind on
FSP.

Question 2 of 2: Since HMC 7 requires that 240 be at 299 or higher should
I not put HMC 7 on until even the Deferred is up to par?
