This was _not_ the case with the CISC-to-RISC conversion.

During that conversion, removing observability removed the creation data needed to recreate the
object.

IBM changed this at v5r1 to make future conversions much, much easier.


Yes, software compiled on V5R1+ should be OK.

Anything older and *CRTDTA observability may be issue. As pointed out
by others, it's not uncommon to see software purposely compiled ON and
for older releases.

I wouldn't presume smooth sailing yet.
