Pricing has nothing to do with number of users or system horsepower. It's
all about supply, demand, and maximum revenue. The vendor wants to
maximize their profit. They would rather sell 2 units of support for $100
each than 3 units for $50 each. If the support is actually worth $75 but
they have the customers over a barrel and can charge $10,000 for it what
do you think they would be inclined to do?
They are going to do their best to maximize their revenue. It's all
playing with numbers to make it work.
