Phillip,

What is the value of Word 3? It will tell you what you are short.

000000A2 - Not enough interactive available. (Not likely, this is Linux after all :-)
000000A3 - Not enough Processors available.
000000A4 - Not enough memory available.

Any other value is a 'Contact IBM' value.

Hi all,

after upgrading from V5R2 to V5R4 on a model 830/FC2402/4 processor
system errors while trying to IPL the same unchanged LPAR config as on V5R2.
Both Linux partitions don't come up with an error like "cannot allocate
processor resources" and a "b2xx 1230" as SRC
Here is the config:

Display Partition Processing Configuration
Number of system processors . . . . . . . . . . . : 4
Number of available system processors . . . . . . : 0
Number of system processors allocated to pool . . : 2
Available processor units in pool . . . . . . . . : 0.00
Size of system main storage (MB) . . . . . . . . : 16384
Size of available system main storage (MB) . . . : 4096
Interactive feature available . . . . . . . . . . : 0 %

Partition ----------Total Processors----------
Identifier Name Current / Pending Minimum / Maximum
0 PRIMARY 2 / 2 1 / 2 (shared pool)
1 OS4002 2 / 2 1 / 2 (shared pool)
2 OS4003 2 / 2 1 / 2 (shared pool)
3 LINUX1 1 / 1 1 / 2 (dedicated CPU)
4 LINUX2 1 / 1 0 / 2 (dedicated CPU)

Why will this happen to fail with V5R4 while it runs perfectly on V5R2 ?
Any hints ?
