Many of the community still call it an AS/400 - they love
it, but they cannot call it the actual brand name - that is not marketing.

Consider back in 2000 the RS6000 and AS400 had the same price and
performance. Quite likely the as400 had higher sales. ( the rs6000
model 170 I have is very slow, yet sold at an as400 170 price ) The
marketing geniuses of the p line then switched to their current market
pricing, sell the fastest possible system strategy. 7 yrs later the p
line is selling at what, 4x the gross sales of the i?

I have seen Jack Bauer in action. I know there are conspiracies in
high places. Who is it that is working to kill our system all these
years? Sheri Palmer? ;)
