Hi,

I am investigating what is required to encrypt the numbers of credit card
fields in our databases on our 810 system. We are running under R5V2.

There is no intention for the time being to upgrade. However, if a better
solution can be achieved in V5R3 or V5R4, we are open to suggestions.

I read the white paper on "protecting i5/os data with encryption". I got some
idea about encryption but I am still confused about the issue.

Would we have to increase the size of the fields in our PF in order to
accommodate the encryption?

What method would be appropriate for our needs an RC4 or an AES encryption and
would they work on V5R2.

RC4 would make use of the QC3DTAEN & QC3DTADE service programs?

Do we need to buy additional software? Do we need to buy a 2058 Cryptographic
Accelerator in order to store our keys.

All inputs are welcome.

Regards,

Emmanuel Zannis
