I installed V5R4 over V5R3 and all the group PTFs this weekend. Only
issue I had was with the Apache web config and that somehow the front
panel switched to IPL from the A side. Used a PWRDWNSYS *RESTART
IPLSRC(B) to fix the Domino plugin but still had to add some directives
to a couple of secured directories to regain access to them.

This morning already, users are complaining that when ever they save a
changed Excel spreadsheet that they are getting a message that the file
may have been changed by somebody else and asking if they want to save a
copy or overwrite any other possible changes. I have confirmed that
this happens with Excel but not Word and that the system times are
synchronized.

There is a plausible chance that another user may try to open the same
spreadsheet and in the past has relied on being informed by Excel that
it is in use and being asked if they want to open it as Read Only. This
notification seems to still work.

Why has the update to V5R4 caused the new warning only in Excel?

Is there any safe way to stop the users getting the new warning?

Thanks.

Roger Vicker, CCP
