We are running on a 520 at V5R4 (finally). There are a few licensed programs installed on the system that I think are unnecessary, but my search of the Info Center still leaves me in some doubt.

5722CE3 (Client Encryption 128-bit) was, I think deprecated by option 35 of 5722SS1 (CCA Cryptographic Service Provider). I think that because there is no reference to it in v5r4 Info Center, but there is in v5r3. Also, I vaguely recall that the cryptographic services were going to become part of the OS in v5r4. I don't use cryptographic services at this point, but thought that I might one day. Can I just whack 5722CE1?

5722JC1 (IBM Toolbox for Java) is installed. We do not do Java programming here, but I didn't know if the system needed it for some of its own stuff. Can it be whacked?

The Java Developer kits (5722JV1) are installed. Again no Java programming here (nor anticipated). Can all of them be summarily deleted?

Thanks.
